چکیده

Web Services technologies allow interaction between applications. Sometimes a single service given alone does not meet user’s needs. In this case, it is necessary to compose several services in order to achieve the user’s goal. For composing web services, we developed an example using two main approaches: the first one is BPEL4WS, a Business Process composition, and the other is OWL-S, an ontology specifically for web services composition. In this paper we explain and compare the features of these two approaches and the manner of each one does a web service composition.

A Template-Based Semi-Automatic Web Services Composition Framework Case Study of Smart Home Management

Recently, a range of industry languages and frameworks solutions have been realized to enable web services composition. Among these, we find the Business Process Execution Language for Web Services (BPEL4WS) [1] and the Semantic Markup Language for Web Services (OWL-S) [2]. But there is still a need to propose a system which offers more flexibility to compose and invoke services and which reinf...

Two Formal Approaches for Web Services: Process Algebras & Action Languages

Web services emerged recently as a promising way to develop applications through the Internet. Nowadays, an increasing number of companies and organizations only implement their core business and outsource other application services over Internet. A central challenge is the development of modelling techniques and tools for enabling the (semi)-automatic composition and analysis of these services...

Expressing Business Process Models as OWL-S Ontologies

BPEL4WS is a well-established business process standard that can be used to orchestrate service-based workflows. However, the rapid growth and automation demands of e-business and grid applications require BPEL4WS to provide enhanced semantic annotations to achieve the goal of business processes automation. Here, OWL-S (OWL for Web Services) is designed to represent such kind of semantic inform...

A p2p based service flow system with advanced ontology-based service profiles

A peer-to-peer (p2p) based service flow management system, SwinDeW-S, could support decentralised Web service composition, deployment and enactment. However, traditional workflow definition languages, such as extended XPDL and service-oriented BPEL4WS, have become insufficient to specify business process semantics, especially the descriptions of inputs, outputs, preconditions and effects. In th...

Conversation-Based Specification and Composition of Agent Services

There is great promise in the idea of having agent or web services available on the internet, that can be flexibly composed to achieve more complex services, which can themselves then also be used as components in other contexts. However it is challenging to realise this idea, without essentially programming the composition using some process language such as BPEL4WS or OWL-S process descriptio...
